It runs from Chicago to L. A., 2400 miles all the way as the song goes.

As the song by Bobby Troup goes:

If you ever plan to motor west
Travel my way, the highway that's the best.
Get your kicks on

It's called the mother road or main street USA.

Route 66   was established on November 11, 1926, and was officially removed from the United States Highway System on June 27, 1985. Route 66 was "is" the main street in most towns along the route and for a while was the only road that connected the midwest with the west coast. In it's heyday, many Americans went west for job's, a better life, a new beginning or just the adventure. Today parts of 66 is gone, just a distant memory. However, riders still longing for the glory and the adventure of the road still ride the interstate and the undisturbed sections of Route 66. I, have traveled the Route many times enjoying the ride, sights and people along the way. Parts of 66 is left in pieces and history books, however sections left are still an adventure. I'm sorry I missed the heyday's, however, memory's of the Route 66 will stay with me forever. It's been a few years since I rode 66 and I'm looking forward to the return.

In 2020,  I'm putting togeather a return to Route 66 for a ride down the mother road.

The dates for this trip departs June 2, 2020 from Springfield. IL. then it's off for the ride of a lifetime down Route 66. My suguestion is to leave the route in Barstow, CA. for the ride to Las Vegas, NV. Where the bikes will meet the truck for the shipping home, June 14, 2020. Why start in Springfield? "riding a motorcycle in Chicago could be dangerous"

Cost is $1300.00 shipping "only" to and from.
